The Akron Garden Club recently provided funds to the Women’s Board to the Summit County Juvenile Court for the creation of raised community garden beds and improvements to the existing campus community gardens and greenhouse at the Summit County Juvenile Detention Facility.  Youth held at the facility grow and harvest vegetables and fruit that supplement their cafeteria meals and are donated to local food banks and a neighboring church.
